As a wedding and portrait photographer, I strive to create images that tell the story of your life with beauty and grace, respect and imagination. Foregoing forced smiles and stiff poses, I embrace natural smiles and expressions in order to create images that have a unique freshness and vitality and a heartfelt and emotional authenticity.

The Power of a Photograph

Imagine a photo shoot where each moment is a last moment, where there will be no second takes, where what you're doing means everything. The mission of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, a nonprofit organization, is to introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the death of an infant or small child with the free gift of professional portraiture. At the family's request, a volunteer photographer conducts a sensitive, private photo session (usually at the hospital) and provides beautiful, heirloom portraits that aid families in their healing, bring hope to their future, and honor their child. The healing power that comes from just one single image is life-changing.

I am simply honored to be one of the many professional photographers that volunteer their services through this remarkable foundation. After every session I've attended, I've been thanked and blessed by the passionate nurses who introduce our services to their patients and help us navigate such difficult photo sessions. Their blessings are hard to receive, especially when I realize that this work is some of the most precious and humbling work I will ever create. And it's through this work that I have come to realize the depths of the human heart and the compassion that dwells there. We cannot change what is happening to these families, but we change the way they heal for the rest of their lives.

I wish, I wish, to be a fish.

How wonderful it was to visit St. Petersburg again, even if only for a few days. It was so nice to have my camera to capture my morning walk around the bay, my stay at the Vinoy Hotel and dinner with my good friend and previous over-the-fence neighbor, Bruce, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Paris. (His delicious recipies, of course, are all in French - can you stand it?) This beautiful city by the sea is where my husband and I got our start as newlyweds. For us, there is no other place like it.

Summer Sorbets

I am so excited to now offer beautiful custom photo jewelry from Planetjill! In addition to a wide variety of sterling silver photo necklaces, bracelets and accessories, you can pick up one (or several) of these gorgeous gemstone photo bracelets in green amethyst, rose quartz, aquamarine, or - my favorite - lemon rock candy. All items are handcrafted, and the photo charms are sealed with a waterproof, glossy coating, making them hassle-free for the dog days of summer. Planetjill also supports several charities, including Autism Speaks, Kidsave and Save the Ta-Tas. Hmmm ... scrumptious bling and philanthropy in one stop? What are you waiting for?
