Vintage Holiday

At last, I have my long-awaited red velvet sofa, and I can finally announce my second holiday mini sessions theme: Vintage Holiday. It's hard to find a model at the last minute, but I did locate one that, luckily, had an open calendar. It's a mutually-beneficial working relationship: she gives me about 3 minutes of shooting time, and I give her a few raisins. Although she did confess to me that she's really only in it for the glamour. Darling, you look fabulous.

I'm so excited about these sessions! Since this theme is so flexible, I have plenty of ideas to make your session unique for your family. Whether you wear vintage-inspired clothing (visit Anthropologie for examples) or colorful hats, scarves, and lots of layers, your family's individuality will shine. If you're looking for something hip and different for your holiday portraits, call 918.706.3079 or send an email to kayceedeen@gmail.com to dish about the details and reserve your session.

You Are Captivating

Beauty is a quality of the soul that expresses itself in the visible world. You can see it. You can touch it. You are drawn to it. Beauty illuminates. Its essence, says Thomas Aquinas, is its "luminosity." It is bound up with the immortal. Beauty flows from a heart that is alive.

Every woman possesses a captivating beauty. Every woman. It takes time for it to emerge into wholeness. It needs to be cultivated, restored, set free. We desire to possess a beauty that is worth pursuing, worth fighting for, a beauty that is core to who we truly are. We want beauty that can be seen; beauty that can be felt; beauty that affects others; a beauty all our own to unveil. Glorious, powerful, and captivating.
- Excerpts from Captivating, by John and Stasi Eldredge

I am thankful to Skye Hardwick for introducing me to Captivating and Wild at Heart, companion books that invite us to explore the mysteries of the feminine and masculine hearts. What makes you come alive? What stirs your heart? Begin your journey.

And just in case you were wondering, sweet girl, yes, you are lovely. You are worth fighting for. You are captivating.

Our Song

I have been so excited to share my second mini-session announcement with you, but we've run into a teensy snag. Seems that the delightful store that's housing my red velvet piece of perfection decided to close, so we're having to make some alternate arrangements. So we wait. But I wouldn't make you wait without some beautiful images to keep you company. And so I present Hannah and Olivia, sisters whose beauty continues to shine long after our meeting.
We are sisters. We will always be sisters. Our differences will never go away, but neither, for me, will our song.
